The Eagle Approach: Engage and Collaborate

Recent client summits in Chicago and Toronto highlight just one of the ways we seek to collaborate and create a dialogue that advances our solutions and strengthens our client relationships.

In March, my colleague Rashmi Patel highlighted the growing prevalence and activity of client led, Eagle user groups across the globe. These groups reflect an enthusiastic and mature client base that is excited to learn and share with one another. Eagle’s interactions with these groups are an excellent opportunity to engage in dialogue that affirms our strategy while also shedding light on new opportunities to advance our solutions. Our recent client summits, held in Chicago and Toronto, are another example of how we are engaging with the client community and underscore our commitment to collaboration.

At the Eagle Canadian Summit, for instance, over 100 client attendees, prospective clients and third-party consultants traveled to Toronto from across Canada to attend. The day-long event featured a corporate update from Eagle CEO Mal Cullen as well as five distinct presentations and panels that explored legacy system replacement, best practices in managing complex derivatives, Eagle’s secure private cloud platform, cybersecurity, and how to best leverage Eagle to enable data-driven decisions for the front office. Bruce Feibel, from BNY Mellon Investment Management, also participated to highlight the trend of firms including ex-ante risk as part of their performance measurement process.

Citisoft COO Thomas Secaur, who was speaking on the system replacement panel, perhaps articulated it best when he described, “This [event] simply isn’t something that you’re seeing other vendors do.”

Meet… Diane McLoughlin

diane_picEagle Investment Systems’ Chief Client Officer discusses her recent appointment at Eagle and how the new executive position was designed with clients in mind

Q. You were recently named the Chief Client Officer, or CCO, at Eagle. As this is a unique position in Fintech, can you provide some color as to what this role entails?

A. We created this role with the objective of building upon our traditional client focus at Eagle. All of our client-facing teams now reside under the CCO, including North American Sales, Product Management, Global Marketing and Relationship Management (RM). In bringing these teams together within a larger group, we’re able to ensure there’s consistency between all of the client touch points. We also felt that by aligning these groups, we can make sure that the client is heard clearly across Eagle and that their needs remain at the forefront of everything we do. We believe that by more closely integrating these teams, our clients can realize even more value through all of our solutions, across data management, accounting and performance measurement.

WTGBSTAW14-OA-eagle-403x292pxI’m happy to share that Eagle recently won its first award for its outsourcing offering – “Best Outsourcing Provider to the Buy-Side” as part of the prestigious Waters Technology’s Buy-Side Technology Awards 2014.

We were singled out for the quality of our ability to provide the global investment management industry with a comprehensive technology offering, spanning everything from best-in-class products to hosted services, to a robust outsourcing solution through our relationship with BNY Mellon.

This award really highlights the strength and flexibility of our solutions across the continuum. Our aim at Eagle is to help the world grow assets efficiently by providing investment firms with the best technology across data management, accounting and performance, deployed flexibly to best meet their strategic and tactical requirements. This ranges from onsite installations (although this is becoming far less common) right through to fully outsourced services that removes from our clients the burden of managing their own systems to allow them to focus instead on running their portfolios.

Diane McLoughlin, Head of Client Relationship Management

Industry changes have reoriented our clients’ businesses and we have altered the way we serve our clients in response. Eagle’s Global Client Coverage Model organizes client touch points into three key roles: the relationship manager, the project executive and the client operations manager. Eagle’s relationship manager is committed to aligning overall business objectives with the capabilities of the Eagle solution. The relationship manager has end-to-end accountability of the relationship throughout the client lifecycle and helps to ensure alignment of short, intermediate and long-term goals. The client operations manager is the main point of contact for technical support on a 24/7 basis and the project executive oversees implementation activities. The project executive is dedicated to helping the client successfully deploy the solution while helping to ensure benefits by using our best practices.
